Pre-School

NWIMs preschool program accepts children aged 3 – 6years. During this phase children are in the “conscious earning period.” All the skills presented and mastered in toddler program have prepared them for this moment. Learning is now deliberate and children are able to understand the intellectual links. Students are give the opportunity to explore given “freedom within limits”. Early math and literacy skills are introduced through a variety of materials of which the children “learn through play”
Our individual lesson plan for each student allows us to observe and identify which areas are of strength or need development within a child.

Our mixed age setting provides lessons of responsibility as the older children become role models for the younger students. This also facilitates younger children to learn more from the older children and envoke a desire to overcome challenges.

All learning starts from concrete scaffolding (hands on learning) towards abstract. “What the hand does, the mind remembers.”- Dr. Maria Montessori. This is in preparation for the next phase of Elementary.
