Health and safety Guidelines

(Covid-19 Protocol)

Nature’s Way International Montessori School has implemented the following measures according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health in Rwanda specifically pertaining to Covid prevention and protocols. The following measures will be put into place;

  • Established a Covid Response team with parents, teachers and the nearest health center with a representative at local authority  (sector level).
  • Report symptomatic suspected cases on a daily basis to the nearest health facility for immediate action and follow-up.
  • Share information on public health prevention and control measures with parents as well as other members of the community.
  • Negative Covid test results to be produced by all staff and children at the beginning of each school term as well as returning from long holiday breaks.
  • Temperature checks daily of staff, parents and students entering the center.
  • A designated room will be allocated for any suspected cases where a student or staff member will isolate upon exhibition of covid symptoms.
  • Deep cleaning of the center regularly.
  • Ensuring social distance.
  • Effective wearing of a face mask and social distancing with restricted movement while entering/exiting school premises.
  • Have onsite flash temperature thermometers.
  • Sanitizers will be accessible in the class  and office with at least 60% alcohol and/or hand washing facilities with soap and water (or Stations that will be refilled periodically).

In order to prevent the risks of spread of COVID-19 in the center, we will ensure the following; 

  • All students and staff must wear facemasks correctly at all times.
  • Every student and staff should be screened before entering the school (temperature checks with non-contact thermometers—any student /staff with a fever of 37.5 Degrees Celsius and above will not be permitted to enter the premises.
  • Doors and windows will be kept open for maximum air flow .

Nature’s Way International Montessori Covid-19 Suspected Case Plan

STEP 1:   Notify the chair of the task Force.

Step 2:    Call 114 and the nearest health facility.

Step 3   Notify the parents of the suspected case(s) and the parents of the classmates.

Step 4:  Notify the task force members.

Step 5: Escalate incident by notifying the whole task force.

Step 6: Generate alert for evacuation of suspected cases.

Step 7: Test the classroom and resolve the incident.

Step 8: Produce a report for the task force.
